Fireworks in December?

I had a nice weekend. It was a balmy 80 degrees on Saturday as we got our Christmas tree and Jes cooked a turkey dinner that night. We put up lights on our house this morning and Jay and Nikki, our neighbors, took us to Manhattan Beach Pier tonight to watch fireworks! Apparently, this is an annual thing. We walked along The Strand to check out all the nice beachfront houses and stopped at a place called Harvey Washbangers, a laundromat/pizza parlour…pretty neat concept. We then had dinner at Pancho’s for some Mexican food before dropping Jes off at LAX. Only 5 more days before Winter Break!! Yippee!!

I’m gonna be rich!

My brother introduced me to istockphoto.com and I got my first 2 photos approved last week. You can look up my photos by searching by member (beakatude). I checked my account today and found out that someone has already downloaded one of my photos!! Woohoo! I’ve got $0.20 in my account and only $99.80 to go before I can cash out. The race to $100 is on, Brother!!

I miss those days.

I had dinner with Sandy tonight at Cheesecake Factory and got to reminisce about the good ol’ days at UCLA. I didn’t realize how long it has been. She asked me, “If you could change one thing about college, what would it be?” I thought about it and I really wouldn’t change anything. I miss those days.

Full House

We had the cousins over for another poker game on Saturday. I was the first one out in the first game but during the second round I took both Pish and the brother out of the game on the second hand when I called Pish’s “all in” with pocket kings and a king and two 10’s on the table. Haha…it was sweet.

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”

My favorite holiday season is here! The air is cold, the lights are going up, and KOST is playing Christmas songs all month long. Speaking of lights…ever since we moved into this house there was a switch in the garage that didn’t seem to do anything. Jes and I spent a while trying to figure out which outlet it turns on and didn’t have any luck. With the help of my neighbor, I figured out that it turns on a “Christmas light” socket that’s out in front of my house. SWEET! I can string lights up on high on my house and turn them on with a flick of a switch!

tick tick tick…

I’m a bit weirded out about a recent baby boom. First, Linda (college roommate) had her baby boy in October. Then, Patti (highschool friend) had her baby girl on Thanksgiving. Now, my cousin (only 3 months younger than me) is expecting a boy in March! Sheesh…this is very surreal.
