Booked and Registered

morefitnessOn Friday, I got my days off approved so I hopped on the computer and booked our flights to NYC and registered for the race. Yay!  This has got to be one of the cheapest races ever. Registration was only 25 bucks!! AND it includes a free one-year subscription to Fitness Magazine. Score! It’ll be in the Spring (end of April) and the route goes through Central Park.  Should be fun!!!  The race is scheduled smack dab in the middle of our 5-day trip so hopefully it will give me ample time to explore and recover.

Sprout-tastic!

It’s Day 15 and I am pleasantly surprised to find that my basil egg has sprouted!!  There’s only one at the moment but there may be more down below just waiting to poke out of the soil.  Until then, I shall celebrate this one with a little sprout photoshoot.  Isn’t he cute?!

With the conditions in the house being so dry, I put a jar over the egg for a little greenhouse effect and I think that did the trick.  Yay!  Little Miss Black Thumb is learning!!

Warm Nights

The weather has been unseasonally warm here and it’s bummin’ me out.  We need cold!  We need rain!  We need snow!  Not sure I’ll be making it to Tahoe this season afterall.  That is, unless it starts to pour for days and days in the next few weeks.

The only silver lining to it all is that it makes for very pleasant evenings outside.  So, we made reservations for a place in the Financial District that has outdoor seating.  It’s unusual for us to be able to sit outside without shiverring or defending the napkins from the wind.

We had dinner at plouf, which ended up being a fun dinner of seafood and wine.  Yum.  Isn’t it cute?!  It’s in a little alley with lights hanging above.  Ah…is this what Europe is like?
