Eew…

Poor Koa had a tummy bug this weekend and I got a good whif of it this morning. It all started this morning when I was awoken by whimpering and pounding coming from the kennel. I looked at the clock and it was 3am!! This had better be good. I checked Koa’s kennel and found puke all over the place. So I took him out for a quick walk and put him away in the garage so I could go back to sleep. When I finally woke up at 6:30 and checked on the little bugga, a very foul odor hit me and I found him at the foot of the door with smelly brown dollops of crap all over the garage floor…literally, crap. On our morning walk, he had more fudgy surprises and puked again when we got home. Yikes…it’s time to go to the vet.

Y’all want more Hush Puppies?

My weekend in Charlotte was an interesting one. Uptown is about the size of my thumb. Bank of American practically owns the city. The fall colors are beautiful. Bubba’s has really good barbeque and hush puppies. The Westin rocks and so does their mall in South Park. Jes’ co-workers are a fun bunch and their office is pretty neat. The whiteys really know how to party it up and drink beer. I’m just not sure how ready I would be to move there but I’d be willing to consider it. I’d just have to get to know the area a little better.
Well, my flight back was even more of an adventure. It felt like the longest flight ever. For a 6-hour flight, it took 9 hours to get home. There were 3 crying babies on board, I had a middle seat, the flight was VERY bumpy, and there was a 1.5-hour layover at SFO. As if it couldn’t get any worse, we had to wait on the tarmack for 15 minutes for another plane to leave our gate.

“Lighting will guide you.”

I must say, there are certainly some perks that come with Jes travelling every week. I flew to Charlotte yesterday on United and sat in the First Class section again. It’s only my second time in First but you really do get off the plane in a much better mood…perhaps it was the bottomless wine glass that I had next to me. Haha.
I’m here in Charlotte now and it’s raining. Jes worked really late last night and didn’t get back to the room until 4am. Sheesh…this presentation that he has today must be really important. I’m hoping to explore the city today but maybe I should wait until the rain goes away. Until then, I’m going to hang here at the Westin and do some work.

Teenagers…

The Long Beach Aquarium was vandalized a couple nights ago by 3 teens who happened to be bored one night. They jumped the fence and tortured 2 sharks and left one out in the parking lot to die. They also stabbed a ray for fun. So sad…

It’s a Wonderful Life

Some of my joys in life are so simple. I’m at home eating my oatmeal and having a cup of coffee with Jes at my right and my dog at my feet. It’s sprinkling outside, I’m in my PJs at noon, and Air is playing in the background. Life is pretty sweet sometimes.

Ah, politics.

Did you vote?! I haven’t voted since the Bush/Clinton race but I’m voting this time around. Being in a Democratic state but a Republican county has been really weird. Irvine has some pretty gung-ho candidates for City Council too. Yesterday, I saw a candidate standing on a street corner holding a sign with his name on it and waving to the drivers passing by. Haha…it was amusing enough for me to vote for him. Hopefully we’ll have an answer to this presidential race tonight…ok, I’ll give it a week.
By the way, it’s our 2nd wedding anniversary and the hubby’s in Charlotte again. Sweet.
