I miss those days.

I had dinner with Sandy tonight at Cheesecake Factory and got to reminisce about the good ol’ days at UCLA. I didn’t realize how long it has been. She asked me, “If you could change one thing about college, what would it be?” I thought about it and I really wouldn’t change anything. I miss those days.

Apple Pie vs. Pumpkin Pie

Ah, Thanksgiving…it really has to be the fattest day of the year. Jes made a 21-lb. turkey, Jason bought the ham, and we worked together to get all the fixins made for about 18 people yesterday. Boy oh boy was it yummy – must have been all the butter we used! It was nice to see the family working together throughout the day to prepare the dinner and I was so happy to see Victor, Susie, and Dayantha. We ate, played poker, watched movies , and played videogames until the wee hours of the night. By the way, the apple pie won but it was a close race.

Happy Birthday, Jonah!

Went to Chicago this past weekend. At first I thought I was going to miss my flight but it turned out rather well. Jesse surprised me with an upgrade to First Class!! It was sweeeeet! I had a nice meal, free wine, lots of legroom, and they even hung up my coat and addressed me as Ms. Lao. Haha…I could get used to this. Once in Chicago we met up with Yong, Helen, Dayantha, Victor, and Susie. We all stayed in Hoffman Estates. We had a nice time hanging out at the house on Saturday in our pajamas and playing poker. Actually, all weekend we were either playing poker, watching poker on ESPN, or watching “Rounders” – a movie about poker. I also got to visit Linda and Shaun in Rockford! Linda had her baby early and I was there just in time to see the new addition to their family! His name is Jonah and is a little over 5 pounds. Jes and I got to hold the little tyke and it was pretty scary. He was so tiny and could barely open his eyes. Congratulations, Linda and Shaun!!

Birthday Dinner and Drinks

We celebrated Holly’s birthday as well as mine at Pane e Vino in West Hollywood. Patty, Johnny, Patti, and Howard came out to play too. We had a good time sipping wine and eating lots of Italian food under the twinkle lights and open patio. Afterwards, we went to The Arsenal in West LA for drinks.

Thanks, B.

Tonight was Brooke’s going-away dinner. She actually drove all the way down to Irvine to pick my sorry ass up. So sweet. Anyway, we had dinner and drinks at El Paso Cantina again and shared some chuckles and tears before she left. Good Luck out in B-town, Brooke!

Congrats to the Masayas!

Weekend recap: Took Yong and Helen to K-town…Helen got her make-up and Jes bought another travel bag. I got some cute hairpins (thanks Helen!). Rehearsal and dinner was later in the evening – lots of Korean and Filipino food…yum. Met up with everyone else at Friday’s, the old stand-by. Yoon came in on Friday morning, everyone else came in Friday evening. Saturday was Victor and Susie’s wedding day! Jen and Kevin came in Saturday morning and we all got ready here at the house. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a hoot. Lots of alcohol, food, and dancing. It felt like a big reunion. Holly and I got a bit tipsy but managed not to pass out in the bathroom. CONGRATULATIONS, VICTOR AND SUSIE!!
