Happy Halloween!

I spent this Halloween at the Oakland Museum of Art to check out the Pixar exhibit featuring artwork from the past 25 years.  It was so cool to see all the drawings and models that go into making a movie or short film.  Made me want to watch all the earlier films again like the first Toy Story and A Bug’s Life. Cameras and cell phones weren’t allowed in the exhibit so this is the only photo I got while I was in the gift shop.

On Friday, the Rehab therapists all dressed up like the Muppets.  I managed to put together a Beaker mask to wear on my head complete with buggy eyes, a big egg-shaped nose, and fluffy orange hair.  I borrowed one of the doctor’s lab coats and had to walk around wearing Jes’ work shirt and tie too. Teresa was Fozzie Bear.  I don’t have a group photo of everyone yet but I’ll post one as soon as I get a copy from my friend who took one.  We had Miss Piggy, Kermit, Animal, the Sweedish Chef, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, and even Rizzo the Rat.

Here’s a photo of the mask close-up.  Too bad I didn’t have time to figure out how to make a draw bridge mouth.

Thanks!!

These days, the only thing I get in the mailbox are magazines, bills, and junk.  Yesterday, there was a package stuffed into the mailbox and it was a pair of flip-flops!! Woooooo!!!  After I wrote about the death of my last pair of Sanuks, my dear friends down the street ordered me a pair online.  They couldn’t find the black ones that I’ve been used to wearing but got me a pair of the cutest purple ones ever!!  Love the flower print on the backside of the straps.  Thanks to Ryan, Michelle, Jack, and Reese!!  Love you guys!!

Mind the Gap

As some of you know, I LOVE maps and public transportation maps are just as cool.  On our trip to London, we spent a lot of time on the London Underground and the “Mind the Gap” announcements and reminders everywhere cracked me up.

So naturally, I was delighted to find this mug on our last day in the city.  It looks great next my NYC Subway mug.  I’ll have to post photos of that one soon.

They gave up today.

It’s the 1st of October and my flip-flops finally gave in to their demise.  *sniff*  I was walking the dog this afternoon when I tripped on a crack and they gave up.  I had to walk home with one bare foot.

Looked all over Southern CA for a replacement pair and had no luck. I’m a creature of habit and this was my second pair.  Couldn’t give in to a different style or brand.  If anyone sees these in a store nearby, I wear Sanuk Paydays in Size 8 and black. I’ll pay you back…promise.

Elephant Lunchtime!!

Michelle gave me a birthday gift!!!  It’s a lunch bag in the shape of an elephant!!!  It also had an ice pack in the shape of a baby elephant!  What’s the best part?

It has a tail!!!!

Thanks, Michelle.  I love it!

Black vs. Lime Green

On Saturday, I went to lululemon to shop for a new gym bag.  I looked at 4 different designs and finally decided on this one called the Classy Classic II Gym Bag.  The next decision was the color and material.  It came down to the black neoprene with black trim or the gray leathery one with lime green trim.  Given away by the photo above, I chose the sassy gray and green one.  I figured that I had enough boring black bags.

Anyhoo, the bag has handles that are big enough to sling over my shoulder but also has a longer strap to cross over.  Inside it’s HUGE with lots of little pockets along the inner lining.  It also has a pocket that’s big enough to fit my laptop if I want to use it as a carry-on.  The bag also comes with a handy-dandy waterproof pouch that’s perfect for my stinky shoes.  The outside has pockets big enough for my water bottle and it’s in the shape of the omega, which is their logo.

Call me silly for blogging about a bag but I don’t get around to buying things like this very often.  Can’t wait to use it this week!
