Jes went to Camp with me today and made friends with Aidan today. They spent some quality time in the supply room talking about whales and how to take care of a dog. They also went around to all the neighbors to drop off gifts and got a good run in at the same time.
With the handy dandiness of ofoto.com, I haven’t felt the need to update my old site. But each summer, I get the “bug” to redo my personal website so here I am! I’m going for simple this time with less extra stuff…just don’t have the time anymore. Welcome to beakatude version 2…
So, I passed! Yup, the big envelope came in the mail on April 1st and I got my “R”! I can’t describe how nice it was to sign “OTR” for the first time.
Wedding planning is still going…I bought the dress, chose a photographer, and have started interviewing florists.
Last weekend, I went to Napa with Jes and we had such a good time. It was the first time that we’ve gone on our own and it was nice to be able to get lost and not care, sit for as long as we wanted without an agenda, taste wine and enjoy each other’s company, and drive along the windy paths in our new RSX. The only drawback was how much harder it was to go home and get back to work on Monday.
The test is over! I took it on Saturday and boy do I feel relieved! Let me tell you, February wasn’t a very fun month…too much stress for Nina. Well, now it’s all out of my hands and I’ll just have to wait for the results in early April. Cross your fingers!!
On the work front, things are getting better. Kids are being seen, reports are being written, and I have 4 IEPs to attend this month so far!
I’m thinking of creating a version 2.0 to this site but I’m not sure if it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Jes just got his Linux server up and running so we’ll be building PITA 6.0 off of it soon. I just wish I had more time to play on my computer. As much as I would like to, I just can’t leave work at work.
It’s been a long time since I last wrote an entry. A lot has happened and a lot is still happening. I’ve started my very first full-time position as an occupational therapist and it’s been so much fun! I’m also excited about getting a real paycheck twice per month! On top of the new job, I’ve been planning our wedding and it has been a whirlwind…so many things to think of. In addition, I’m supposed to be studying for the big OT exam!! It’s kinda scary to think that all the money and time spent will all come down to this one exam. I can’t wait to finally have my “R”.
A very scary thing happened. On our first day back on the slopes, Jes fell while snowboarding. He tried to shake it off, finished the run, and completed another run. Back at the lodge, he checked himself into the Kirkwood clinic, had a mini seizure, passed out, and was transported to Barton Memorial. He ended up having abdominal surgery, stayed in the ICU for 3 days, transferred to Kaiser in Sacramento, and he’s now back his old self with a new scar down his tummy. Phew! That was close. Not the best way to start a new year.
