It’s raining!!

Oh man, this is awesome! This morning Pasqual told me that it was raining but I wasn’t so ready to believe him right away.  But now I’m sitting here at my workstation at the hospital staring out of the window watching the rain fall. It’s pouring! This gets me so giddy because that there’s probably snow falling in Tahoe and my sidewalks are getting washed. With last year being so dry and having only about 10 days of rain (if that) last year, this is so refreshing. It’ll just make walking the dog a little interesting. Bring it on!!

Pasqual has (finally) arrived!

Much to Jes’ dismay, Pasqual, my new wabbit has arrived! After over a week of waiting and waiting, the UPS man rang my doorbell at 6:08 pm this evening. Woohoo! After setting him up and connecting him to our WiFi network, he was ready to go! He’s set to tell me the weather and time, read New York Times headlines to me, and entertain me with his daily Tai Chi routines. I’ve already sent a message to Francoise (Vyl’s wabbit and Pasqual’s girlfriend) and we’ve gotten a couple messages back. What fun! Acutally, anyone can send messages to Pasqual. Just go to the website (click the “wabbit” link above) and register. Once you have an account, you can use the email address that you registered to send him messages (search for pasqual). Thanks again to the Bangs for my new friend!

Later this evening, Jes returned from work and had my brand new digi in his bag!! Woohoo! It’s a double-present day! I’m still charging the battery so I haven’t tried it out yet. So far it feels nice in my hand with a nice rubbery black shell. It has a cool wide-angle Leica lens and a screen that’s much bigger than my old Canon. Oh Mr. Battery, hurry up and charge so I can play!

cus983.gifEver thought Cerritos was too Asian? Think again. The Economist wrote an article about my beloved hometown and considers it a little slice of America. Hm…interesting.

todavia cansado

What a week it has been.  Not sure why but I’ve been dragging.  To make matters worse, I had 2 crying kids in the morning and Spanish class from 6-9 pm.  Ay de mi!  Y tengo dos mas dias.

Anyway, I have two birthday gifts in transit right now and so far they’re tied neck and neck.  I’m waiting for my new compact digi from Jes and my new pet wabbit (compliments of the Bangs – thanks guys!).  Which one will arrive first?!  I don’t know!  I have a feeling the camera will first because it has a shorter distance to travel but who knows.

tired

Been tired all week.  It’s now Thursday night and still haven’t been able to catch up on the Zs.  This weekend I’m taking a Spanish Class for Therapists and it starts tomorrow night after work.  That bums me out.  My favorite day of the week taken up by “Quien es su doctora?” and “Donde esta el dolor?”  I’ve taken 3 years of Spanish but have decided to take this so I can remember who to conjugate stuff again the right way.  Sure, I’ve been getting by so far but I also need to learn how to give kids directions.  I say a lot of things like “My turn.  Now it’s your turn.”  or “You try.”  These are not your average Spanish III phrases.  The next 2.5 days of hanging out in the cafeteria conference room better do me some good cuz I’m tired and could have used this coming weekend.  At least the class is free and only goes from 9-3 on Saturday and Sunday.  Tomorrow night will be painful though…work 9-5 and then class from 6-9?!  That’s brutal.

Weekend Stuff

I think I had a pretty well-rounded weekend.

On Saturday, we watched college football all afternoon. It started out at the sports bar next to our building where we watched Cal play the Ducks.

Afterwards, we went upstairs to a friend’s old work building to hangout on the deck with some Coors Light. That was pretty random. We then ended up at Victor and Susie’s where we watched a very strange UCLA game. By the end of the afternoon, everyone had a nice buzz goin’ and both Cal and UCLA won.

imgp0621.jpgThis morning I woke up bright and early for the 12K (7.46 miles) Bridge to Bridge Run with Susie. It’s a scenic run that starts at the Ferry Building (Bay Bridge), continues down The Embarcadero, over to Fort Mason, turns around at the Golden Gate Bridge, and ends in the Presidio. It was a beautiful morning and the course was nice and flat. Afterwards, we came home, showered, and had some Dim Sum at a nice hole-in-the-wall nearby. The afternoon was spent running errands in Daly City and now Jes is over at Victor and Susie’s building an entertainment center…no thanks to Jimmy. 😉

I also finished uploading the photos from Michelle’s Baby Shower and Frank & Kathleen’s Wedding.

Ah…what a fun, yet productive weekend.
